Still at 232.0, sigh. My glutes are sore from the extra hard elliptical workout yesterday, so I may do Jillian or I may slack off today. Tonight is some beers with the girls. I've saved about 700 calories (although ... if I did the Jillian 30DS before going out, it would be 900+ calories I could consume, hm. Incentive to work out.)
I did talk to TaxMan last night. He's happy with casual dating, seeing each other once a week for a few hours, and not thinking about me in the interim. He's not interested in anything more, until possibly some unknown time in the future. But that's not now. I'm more interested in fireworks and spending more time with someone and communicating more and something that will lead to the real deal. So we agreed that I'm putting my profile back up online. This time I'm going to go for match.com, I feel so much more confident, (yay us! I'm so happy I know y'all!).
We'll continue to see each other at the same casual rate as we see each other now, and we'll back off to being platonic friends if I meet someone fantastic (unless he changes his mind and decides he can't live without me). It feels like I honored many of the seven essential attributes that I learned in meditation class; not striving for things to be different than they are, not being impatient, not grasping or being too attached. And it feels like I honored my feelings. So I'm moderately happy about the whole thing, with the exception of being back in the online dating scene.
So, girls. For those of you that have done online dating. How open have you been about the weight loss, or weight in general? Initially, I had it front and center (50-pound loss, woo hoo), but then I took it off altogether. I've got current pics up, so I'll assume that the dudes can look at a few pics and decide for themselves. I'm preparing for my weight to NOT be the most important thing in my life (and sad that I made such a big deal of it for so long).
Peace, peeps!
Edit: 30DS workout 1, done!
As long as the current pic is honest, I don't see why you should have to comment on losses/gains, etc. It's the YOU now they need to be okay with. And your continuing to lose is generally okay with the majority of guys. Not the BBW-chasers or feeders. A guy who loves you will love you thin, fat, middling. But the first impression should be honest, or they may be resentful. I mean, if I saw an online pic that showed a full head of hair and a younthful face and a bald guy showed up who looked 70, I'd feel pretty miffed. ; )
ReplyDeleteHope you find a way to talk to the guy you like...just talk, right? And that love is around the corner, true love.
Oh, and take a day of rest. I am not a big believer in hard exercise two days going (except maybe if ya wanna be an Olympian or TBL winner.) Muscles grow when you give them rest. If you overtax the body, you get too much inflammation, which ain't good for health. Alternate hard workout with good rest and gentle stuff (like walking or something.)
Later,
I am glad you are in a happy spot. You are listening and being true to yourself. That is great. I'm also happy weight is not the deciding factor all the time now. That is excellent.
ReplyDeleteI wish you the best of luck finding your true love.
Take care and have a blessed evening.
With online dating, it's tough - the way you show yourself off is everything, and so there's a tendency for people to want to hide things. Even at my biggest, I was always honest about my size - I never saw the point in lying. He'd figure it out when he showed up, better to be honest up front. Once I started losing weight, I also included it on my profile (on OKC, it was my "most private thing I'm willing to admit") - because it's a major part of my identity now. I say, go with what you're most comfortable sharing!
